Paragliding in Alaska

Paragliding in Alaska

Experiencing Alaska from the sky is a privilege and paragliders in Alaska are fortunate to have spectacular scenery all around them.

As the sun heats up the earth, hot air rises along mountain ridges or in columns we call thermals.  If you ever noticed birds circling above you, they are catching that rising hot air and using it to elevate.

They save energy when they avoid having to use their wings.  Skilled paragliders look for these columns of rising hot air to keep them in the sky.

The Chugach Mountain Range is a favorite amongst both paragliders and hikers for it’s scenic views of the coastline and the city below.

If you are visiting Anchorage, consider experiencing paragliding on a tandem flight.  The Chugach Mountain Range in Eagle river and Girdwood are popular places we love to fly.

Below is a video from our friend Chris taking his dog for a flight.
